For the last five years the Heat Light Water Initiative provides a collaborative platform to engage in a dialogue of preservation and creative redevelopment of Gary, Indiana. Bringing together artists, designers, educators and cultural producers, Heat Light Water (HLW) seeks to engage the community in the support of the mission of the Gary Redevelopment Department, and is focused on a direct dialogue with the local community groups and current needs of redevelopment and education.

The software is being developed alongside STEM workshops with 6th grade students from 21st Century Charter school.
